Inside Arts is proud to present:

fEAST

Exhibition: 2-15 May 2003
Venue: The Field Gallery, 166 Brick Lane, London E1

WHAT IS fEAST?
fEAST is a rich blend of new visual art celebrating the diverse food heritage of East London's Brick Lane, from the famous 24-hour Jewish beigel shops at one end of the street to the country's most concentrated array of Indian and Bangladeshi restaurants at the other.
Comprising a range of disciplines, fEAST contrasts reportage-style glimpses into the lives of each community's indigenous food-makers with the wider issues of body image, appetite, desire and self-love.

WHO IS fEAST?
fEAST is curated and presented by Inside Arts with funding from the Millennium Commission. The artists include:
Hidetoshi Yamada line drawings and paintings; recently championed in Dazed & Confused as one to watch
Bronwyn Wolfe colour photography capturing the vibrancy and diversity of the area's food shops and restaurants
Saskia Takens-Milne portraits of the nude, disrupting stereotypes and body ideals
Plus special guests
